"I worked with Carrie at a gastropub inside a Courtyard Marriott in downtown Chicago. She began as a supervisor but after her tenacity and hard work were clearly noticed by all, she was promoted to restaurant manager within six months. She stepped up and confronted the extremely difficult endeavor of expediting the food delivery; monitoring the guests and employees; filling in as bartender, server, and line/prep cook when necessary; and performing administrative tasks, sometimes until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. She was tough and driven as well as amiable, empathetic, and understanding.
